It seems to me that John McCain failed to do enough research before he chose his running mate. I can't wait to hear the "family values" conservatives rally around Sarah Palin and applaud her daughter's decision as a seventeen year old to keep her baby and get married to the teenage father. That should be a winner of a marriage.

Ha! Can't wait to find out what else Palin's hiding.

On another note, I should think as a mother of a newly born child with cerebral palsy she would want to spend more time with this child -- and her four other children...or does she hire others to deal with them?

First of all the child has downes syndrome, not cp and as far as the teenage daughter goes, would it be better to abort the baby? How about giving some credit to those who choose to deal with issues (i.e, have the baby) rather than get rid of it to save face. If anyone wants to throw stones, that's fine but I'm quite sure the majority of people out there have had sex once or twice thenselves prior to being married. It must be something to be so perfect!

You know, it really is something to be so perfect.

(I'm joking, of course).

I must admit, I do have major issues with children having children. I could care less about what sort of social criticism the 17 year old receives. I'm thinking of the child. Not given that this child will probably never want shelter, food, ect...since the family is rich. But many 17 year olds or younger that have children cannot support their children monetarily and emotionally. Many have to drop out of school which means they only make minimum wage. Many children suffer severely from this fate. Although, yes, even children born to older parents sometimes suffer the same fate, but it is almost a given the younger the parent(s).

I don't really care one way or the other about Obama or McCain. But I don have to point out for all of the peopel who think it's so awful and disgraceful that Palin's 17-year-old daughter is pregant, why haven't any of you ever said a word about Barack Obama's mother being only 18 years old when she gave birth to him?

Each case is different. Obama obviously did well. But working in downtown Pittsburgh I often see quite the other side of the spectrum.
